7th November marks the anniversary of the October Revolution of 1917 in Russia (25th October in the Old Style calendar). The Russian Revolution was the single greatest event in human history, marking the first occasion - with the exception of the brief episode of the Paris Commune of 1871 - when the exploited and oppressed overthrew their exploiters and oppressors. In this recording from the Bristol Marxist society, Adam Booth - editor of www.socialist.net - provides an analysis of the 1917, outlining the key processes during the Revolution, and pointing out the lessons for Marxists today.
